TBB Asks-- December Fun

It's already the first Monday of December and you know what that means?  It's time to join the lovely ladies at The Blended Blog for their monthly Asks segment where they ask questions and we provide answers.




1. Candy Canes? Yes or No  Oh,  yes I love anything minty and my guys love anything sweet or fruity flavored.  Usually we start with two boxes on the tree and I buy a box just about each week!  

2. Christmas morning early riser or sleep in?  With three boys we're up early!  Usually we are up and around the tree by 6/ 6:30 (I try to hold them off until then!) regardless of how late they stay up the night before.  


And they are this awake and chipper too!

3. Did you shop on Black Friday? Yes or No  Nope.  I honestly don't even remember to head on-line and check out those deals. 

4. Christmas Tree up in November? Yes or No  Yes! We have a fake tree and we always put it up the day after Thanksgiving.  

5. Do you get Holiday ideas from Pinterest? Yes or No Absolutely! I get holiday crafting/gift ideas, recipe ideas, decorating ideas, etc.  You name it and I probably found it on Pinterest. 

6. Christmas Glam or Ugly Sweater? Neither.  Around here Christmas is quite casual and everyone wears whatever they are most comfortable in. 

7. Stocking Stuffers: Wrapped or Unwrapped? I will wrap a few of the larger/ more expensive stocking stuffers but mostly we keep them unwrapped.  While I don't mind wrapping I don't enjoy it THAT much.  




8. Traditional or Modern Christmas Songs? A good mix of both.  There are some songs that I just love in their original forms and others that I like the re-makes of better.  It depends on the beat, the pitch, and how easy they are to sing along to.  

9. Fruitcake? Yes or No Oh gosh, never!  

10. Is your Christmas Shopping Finished? Yes or No? My boys haven't written their letters to Santa yet and I've learned to wait because they always end up changing their minds before it's actually written.  But other then the 4 men living in this house... I am done! 

11. Is there Snow in December where you live?  Almost always.  The last few years it's been kind of weird with some warmer temps in Dec. So far it looks like this might be a snowy and cold year. 


We woke to this snowfall just a few weeks ago!
12. Classic Show: A Charlie Brown Christmas or Rudolph? Honestly, I am not a fan of either one.

    I love your view. WOW! I also love that you wrap some stocking stuffers and leave some unwrapped. How fun. I do not like fruit cake either. Enjoy your week!

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Favorite Moments and Memories of 2024

 Oh 2024... it was a challenging year for sure but we had so many fabulous moments and memories. I fully admit that many of my favorite memories this year have no pictures-- like Easter dinner with the family, Alec's acceptance day at JWU, etc. But I am more interested in being present these day then I am in getting the exact perfect photo. In January  we started the year with a big family breakfast out to lunch before my sister and nephews headed home. It's an awful picture but we were all laughing because my mom tried 4 times to get us all in there! Then a week or so later my husband and I did get to go on our cruise (we weren't sure right up until the last minute since my mother in law was in the hospital just before we left).  Roatan Grand Cayman We celebrated Alec's 18th birthday nearly a full month late in  February but he didn't mind. Share 4 Somethings in December

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for the Share 4 Somethings link up with Jennifer. We're flying home (if all goes well with our connections we should be home tomorrow morning-- though I am REALLY worried about the "adjustment" the airline company made so we now have a much shorter connection time than we planned!) so this wrap up is pretty much all about our trip to Hawaii!  Once again we'll be sharing some things we've  loved and/or disliked, accomplished, some things we've improved upon and/or that need improvement, and noticed.
