100 Days of Science #23--Springfield Science Museum

The day that we went to visit the Seuss Museum we also went through the two art museums, the history museum and the science museum.

I think my boys' favorite was the science museum.  It was a lot of fun with live animals, interactive exhibits

There were taxidermy animals around too which gave us a lot of opportunity to learn about animals that we don't normally see.

The boys loved this live snake.

Trying to match the baby animals with the adult animals based on a few clues.

Learning about leaves and trees.

Learning about animal tracks in the snow.

For this exercise each of the younger two boys sat on one side of the glass table and played with the lights to see how they could only see their own reflections at times and at other see only each other.

The younger two boys have been playing a video game about dinosaurs called Ark and they had the greatest time in the dinosaur rooms looking at fossils and model dinosaurs.

The Africa room had lots of animals and so many boards dedicated to different tribes.

I think I was just as excited as my boys to explore all the rocks, gems, and minerals on display.  So many of them were so neat looking!

Ian and Evan had a fabulous time playing with this simulator that allowed them to pick meteors and falling objects, the trajectory, and what planet they'd hit.  They tried to blow up all the planets.

It was a wonderful day filled with fun science discoveries.

    1. They have changed a lot! I love that they're becoming more and more interactive. Even as an adult I find that a lot more interesting than just reading signs.
