Love to Learn-- Learning About the 50 States

I have set a homeschooling goal for the past three years to cover each of the 50 states and I have yet to actually achieve that goal!

We've brushed upon it many times; like the year we participated in a 50 states postcard exchange, or when we read a bunch a books about South Carolina before our trip to Myrtle Beach.

We've even managed to study more than a handful of states by reading books, preparing recipes, and using geography pages that had us draw and color the state bird, flower, flag and tree.  But we have never covered all 50 states.

This year we purchased the Thinking Tree's United States Do it Yourself journal and I've been putting together a list of a 100 books about the 50 states.  I am determined to read two books each week and reach our goal in 2018!

You can click here to see the list of books we plan to read this year.

Do you have any great book suggestions for your home state or just a book that you remember reading that really brought a place to life?  I am always open to book suggestions!

What have you been up to?  I'd love to hear from you either in the comments or by linking up your own blog post!  Please join us!
