E is for Elephant and Piggie

My boys love all the pigeon books by Mo Willems but when my youngest was first learning to read we particularly enjoyed his Elephant and Piggie books since they were easy enough for my son to read to me.

He occasionally needed a little help while reading but we both enjoyed reading these books together.  There is nothing better than giggling over some books together.

    They are a favorite of ours too. My son always reads one part (Elephant or Piggie) and I read the other.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Salad Love with The Cookbook Club

 Joanne Tracey over at Brookford Kitchen Diaries has started up a monthly cookbook club and the rules such as they are are loose enough that it's easy to follow along and participate.  This month we were asked to look for some sort of healthy living cookbook. I found Salad Love: Crunchy, Savory, and Filling Meals You Can Make Every Day The very beginning of the book David explains that he's not a chef or a cook or anything in the culinary field. His book came about naturally after challenging himself to come up with healthy lunches (at his desk!) for a year. He talks about how/where he stores his tools and foods in the office, why he chose to eat mostly non-processed foods, why his has more of a plant-based focus, and how we able to prepare these right at his desk.  Then the next sections gets into how he assembles his various salads. What on.... how?... I can't believe we are nearly 1/2 through January already! I'm not complaining though. I often feel like January, February, and even March can drag right on by. But I am trying to plan some fun things to look forward to every few weeks and enjoy this cozy season at home. Share Our Lives: 15 Ways I Save Time on Chores

 I'm taking a break from recapping our Hawaii trip this week but will be back on Monday with daily posts from our time on the big island. Welcome to the first Share Our Lives link up of 2025! This month we're talking about how we're saving time on chores.  Over the years I have tried so many different ways to streamline the household chores/cleaning.  Now I'm not always 100% convinced that they save time but they definitely make cleaning the house seems like a more manageable job.  Some things we've tried over the years:  First and foremost stop dirt in it's tracks. We ask that people leave their shoes at the door! That cuts down on a lot of dirt coming into the house.  Ask for help!  I assigned tasks to each of the boys and rotate who had what chore monthly (something that no longer works with Ian working full time and Alec away at school but it was so nice while it lasted).
