Art Project #98-- Coloring Book Art
While trying to come up with a fun arts or crafts project for our 100 Days of Art Challenge I realized that my boys were already guiding themselves with some creative fun.
The older two boys have been coloring up a storm in some of our coloring books; mainly our Color Counts books. It seems like someone is coloring every time I turn around.
I have often colored right alongside the boys and find all of the new coloring books on the market quite captivating. Our favorites are those that are thick enough for us to color with marker (or in the case of these Color Counts books, one sided).
Here are all the pages my boys have worked on in the last two weeks!
All we needed was a package of fine tipped markers (my boys like these Crayola ones), our Color Counts books (garden one here and Travel the World here), and some quiet time to color. Each space is labeled with a number and you just match the number to the color key.
It's quite simple and so relaxing.

I think I might try something like this next term with my guys...maybe 100 Historical Art projects (for my artistic six year old) or 100 Simple Science Activities (for my science-y eight year old) I'm so impressed you've kept going for so long and have done so much! It's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThat would be so much fun! I love the idea of historical art projects. History is always one subject I feel like I don't teach as well as I could. We're hoping to try 30 days of science later this summer; I don't think I have it in me for another 100 days of anything just yet.
DeleteThese are great coloring pages! All your kids art for your 100 days looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
