25 More of Our Favorite Family Games
The boys and I have been having so much fun playing games together. We took part in a gameschooling challenge this past month. While we have always played a lot of games as part of our homeschooling, having this challenge and putting emphasis on games has helped us to finally try out a few of those games we've had hanging around in our closet for awhile.
We've found so many new and wonderful games to play together.
You can see our original list of the top 25 family board games here.
Now we have 25 MORE favorite family games.

Now we have 25 MORE favorite family games.
1. Stratego- We got this game from my mother in law when she was cleaning our her closet and Alec, in particular just loves it! The object is to be the first one to capture the other person's flag.
2. Pictureka!- We love this game where players compete to be the first one to spot the shape/ drawing. Great for all ages!
3. Heads Up!- We just got this for Christmas and my boys love it! With different categories there is something for everyone.
4. Labyrinth-- a fun moving maze game; be the first to find all your treasure cards and you win... but beware the maze is always moving and shifting.
5. Phase 10 Twist- This fun game sure puts a fun twist on the traditional card game of Phase 10.
6. Sequence Numbers- A fun way to work on addition and subtraction skills; be the first one to make a sequence using the cards in your hands.
7. Farkle- a fun dice game; do you dare take the risk and keep rolling?
8. Connect 4- Be the first player to connect 4 in a row.
9. Yahtzee- We love this game for fun addition and multiplication practice. Rolling the dice to meet the combinations needed to win the game and hope you're lucky enough to score a Yahtzee.
10. Clumsy Thief- In this game players match up dollar amounts to make $100; but beware of the thief that can steal your piles and make you loose the game.
11. Brain Quest States Game- This is a fun trivia game about the United States. With cards for two different age groups we have a lot of fun playing together.
12. World GeoBingo- This fun variation on the traditional bingo game helps us learn about different countries all around the world.
13. Ooga Booga- This hilarious memory game has you speaking like a caveman; can you remember everything that has been played so far?
14. Scattergories- My boys just started this fun game. Use the letter dice rolled to fill in the categories listed before the timer runs out.
15. GeoDice- This has been such a fun way to learn the names of countries and cities. Using the letters and continents rolled each player must list as many places as they can without overlapping other players answers.
16. Cribbage- This traditional card game is one that my oldest two sons have just started playing. It's so much fun looking for runs and pairs that add up to 15.
17. Ion: A Compound Building Game- When my middle son started asking to learn more about the periodic table of elements I went looking for a game and we found this fun one. It has been great fun learning how ions combine.
18. Mancala- This traditional game of moving playing pieces around the board has been around for centuries and is so much fun to play.
19. Sumoku- Another game we just got for Christmas; it has been great fun to play and practice multiplication facts.
20. Exploding Kittens- This hilarious card game always leaves us laughing. Just hope you have a diffuse card when you come across a bomb...
21. Q-Bitz- Turn over a challenge card and be the first player to match the design using your colored cubes. It's a lot of fun.
22. Apples to Apples: Disney version- My boys enjoy the game Apples to Apples in all it's forms but this Disney version was particularly funny.
23. Suspend- We just got this game last week and we had a great time trying to be the first person to get rid of all our pegs without knocking any more off.
24. Blokus- We've had this game for years and just started playing this. It's a lot of fun and takes quite a bit of strategy to try and play all of your tiles while making sure that they touch just a small corner of each other.
25. The Forbidden Island- I love this game because we all work together as a team and either we all win or we all loose. The object is to try and rescue all 4 artifacts before the various lands sink underwater and disappear forever.
I've not heard of loads of these but we have heads up on our tablet which is great fun, especially once we've had a few drinks!!! #mg
ReplyDeleteOH, I just bet!

ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of fun... but I do think I loose each and every time!
DeleteWe love Monopoly even though it takes about eight years to finish a game. I also enjoy playing Scrabble with the fam. Mostly because everyone tries to make up words. It makes for great laughs. LOL. Awesome list!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of made up words too; we play with a dictionary nearby to check.
DeleteWe just got into Monopoly- my husband is the WORST- so competative
ReplyDeleteOh mine too! My boys have now learned to never make any trades with their dad... or else he will annihilate them!
DeleteThank you for hosting again this week! It is always a pleasure to participate. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) We love having you participate.
DeleteYou're reminding me how much fun we had when we used to do game night as a family. We should probably start picking that up again, shouldn't we... Thanks for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThat's an amazing list, I remember some of these from my own childhood. I lov to see kids playing any of these rather than playing on line games #FabFridayPost
ReplyDeleteMe too! The lure of online gaming is strong in this house and we have to pull them away. Luckily they have fun once we start playing.
DeleteI can't wait for my boys to be able to understand these games! I do like that suspend game! That looks awesome.. Off to have a look online! #fabfridaypost
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! There are so many wonderful games out there!
DeleteI hate connect 4. My husband always beats me. Every time! Either I'm horrible at that game or he's really good at it. #FabFridayPos
