Art Project #39: Painting Pikachu
When Alec and I saw an advertizement for a Pikachu family paint event. We knew that we could not make it to the class and poor Alec was so bummed. I assured him we could make something similar on our own at home.
We finally settled down to paint Pikachu for our 100 Days of Art Challenge. Evan is also a huge Pokémon fan so he wanted to try it as well.

They both painted the entire canvas yellow; even the sides, and we set them aside to dry. They then decided if there were any areas that needed a second coat or not.
Once we had a solid yellow base the boys added red circles for Pikachu's cheeks.
Once the face was painted they drew two arms below his red cheeks and added a white dot to the eyes using the back (rounded) side of the paint brush.
It was so simple and fun. It was nice to see Evan so excited about another art project.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteHi Joanne, I thinks is very cool that you incorporate a lot of art into your homeschooling. I think it is so important for children to learn to bring out their own unique creativity! Thanks for sharing with us at #SimplifyWednesdays
