52 Lists week #31: My August TO DO List
This week's assignment: List Your To Do List for August was a bit of a challenge because our August outlook just changed yesterday when we ended up at the ER. My oldest son has a fractured wrist and that has thrown a bit of a wrench into the rest of our plans for the next six weeks.
He gets his cast put on tomorrow and I'm still half hopeful they'll tell me the x-rays were read wrong and he just has a sprain. I don't think that's what will happen; but one can hope!
All we kept thinking about yesterday while waiting for the results was all of the things he CAN'T do.
We won't be able to finish up our 100 days of art (unless I find a lot of one handed/ abstract/ exploratory art type projects).
We won't be spending our days swimming or making any more trips to the beach... no more kayaking, tubing, or attempting to water ski.
But by mid- afternoon I realized we needed to make a list of all that he still could do!
Here is part of our "to do" list for the next few weeks:

I am a list maker. On the weekends if I don't have a list I feel lost and get absolutely nothing done. Hooray for lists! I feel so good when I can mark things off of it.

I too am a list maker; I think I probably have a list of lists somewhere. Without them I'd never keep anything straight.
DeleteGood luck finding art projects! And it sounds like you have some fun trips planned!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have a couple ideas... but I'll definitely be looking for a few more.
DeleteI would also like to watch the Olympics althought I have been so busy I don't even know when the opening ceremony is. Good luck with your projects for the month.
ReplyDeleteI thought we might have missed them but found out that opening ceremonies start tonight at 7 EST.
DeleteI haven't done a to do list in many weeks, and I'm really feeling the effects of it. Last night before bed, I decided it was time to get back to it. We'll see if I'm more productive today. ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your son! Yesterday I saw 2 boys wearing casts as they ran through the water at a local park. Made me wonder if technology has improved and now you can get a cast wet? Not sure, but maybe that's something to look into. Good luck!
I hadn't put one together for most of the summer and loved the freedom of not worry about getting everything done but by this time of the season my lack of list starts to drive me a bit nutty. They do make waterproof casts now and we found that even though they weren't available through our Dr. that there are also waterproof cast covers from companies like Amazon.
DeleteI too am a list maker, with back to school and end of summer near there are many things to do on my list as well

Yeah, I find this is a crazy time of year for most families.
DeleteI'm so sorry to read of your son's wrist and do hope that it is healing well.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a list maker, although, I find that I struggle to accomplish all that I want to get marked off.
Thank you for being so faithful in posting your lists :)
My lists are usually so long there is no WAY to accomplish it all... his wrist is doing much better; they didn't even end up putting a cast on just a splint. Thanks for hosting!
